A Benefit of Paris vs. Abu Dhabi in October

October 11th, 2010 · No Comments · Abu Dhabi, France

The situation will be reversed in a couple of months, when Abu Dhabi will be in the midst of three months or so when it will be a haven for Europeans desperate for warmth and sun.

But even in October, France has the more temperament climate.

Let weather.com tell the tale.

Predicted highs, in Fahrenheit, for Oct. 12-21 in Abu Dhabi:

100, 96, 92, 97, 97, 98, 98, 99, 99, 98.

Predicted highs for Oct. 12-21 in Paris:

62, 59, 58, 59, 59, 56, 59, 58, 58, 59.

That’s generally a 40-degree difference per day.

Note: Abu Dhabi routinely still has “feels like” temps 8-10 degrees higher than the actual thermometer reading. Paris, however, “feels like” the stated temperature. High humidity driving temps higher is not an issue,  this time of year.

A major potential problem in Paris, in October, is rain. However, of the 10 days under discussion, above, only one (Oct. 20) has a chance of rain in excess of 20 percent.

And what of the nights?

Abu Dhabi nights are becoming milder.

Here are the predicted lows for the same 10 days:

79, 82, 79, 78, 78, 78, 78, 78, 77, 76.

And for Paris:

41, 45, 45, 44, 43, 41, 41, 44, 47, 50.

It would be tempting to give Abu Dhabi an edge there, but lows generally are just before dawn. Which works well for farmers, but not so well for almost everyone else.
