Today’s List: Dodgers’ Excuses for 46-49 Start

July 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Baseball, Dodgers

A Dodgers team some predicted would play for the World Series has some work to do. The Dodgers are 46-49 at the All-Star break, and now we have four days off to figure out why.

Not that the players need time off to explain their fitful first half.

Top 10 Dodgers excuses for being 46-49:

10. Distracted by all those people in the stands for home games.

9. What, you expect miracles with a payroll of only $118 million?

8. Global warming makes for more sun to get in our eyes.

7. Disheartened by Vin Scully’s constant references to Dodger “dogs.”

6. Jeff Kent is really mean.

5. Bewitched by Jamie McCourt.

4. Listening to Nancy Bea Hefley’s show tunes has turned us into fancy boys.

3. Other guys keep hittin’ ’em where we ain’t.

2. Andruw Jones missed 42 games.

Ned Coletti thought this was 2003 rather than 2008, so he was confused by the statistics.
